Guy Lafleur's illustrious career spanned 17 NHL seasons and was the first player to score 50 goals and 100 points in six consecutive seasons. He played for the Montreal Canadiens, New York Rangers, and Quebec Nordiques during his career. He spent nearly 14 years with the Montreal Canadiens and became the all time lead scorer in the history of the franchise with 518 all-time goals, 728 assists, and 1,246 points. He was the fastest player in the history of the NHL to reach 1,000 points in 720 games. Lafleur's achievements include three Hart Trophies as the league's most valuable player, five Stanley Cup championships with the Canadiens, three Art Ross trophies, two Hart Memorial trophies, three Lester B. Pearson awards, six First-Team All-Star, Conn Smythe Trophy, seven Molson Cups, and one Lou Marsh Trophy. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1988 and the Guy Lafleur Award of Excellence was introduced in 1985.
